DESCRIPTION:Corvettes of WA Car Club (Inc.) SUMMARY:May 2022 - Classic Car Show Ascot Racecourse
DESCRIPTION:THE LARGEST DISPLAY OF CLASSIC VEHICLES IN PERTH\nEach year the classic motoring clubs affiliated to the Council of Motoring Clubs WA come together to put on a combined display that showcases the variety and diversity of the classic motoring movement.\nThis year’s show is held on Sunday 1st May 2022 at Ascot Racecourse. Gates open to the public at 10am to 3pm. \nABOUT THE SHANNON’S CLASSIC CAR SHOW\nIn 1969 five British motoring clubs came together in King’s Park\, Perth to put on a combined display. 60 cars attended. The event was so successful that it was repeated again the following year\, with more clubs attending. The event continued to grow until by the mid-1970s several hundred cars were attending. The coordination of a multi-club car show led to the formation of a coordinating body – the Combined Car Clubs (CMC). \n​The CMC has subsequently grown to become a representative body that liaises with government and the community on matters that affect the classic motoring community and the Classic Car Show has become THE major event on the motoring calendar. The show draws around 1000 vehicles of all types\, representing the diversity and vibrancy of Perth’s motoring community.

DESCRIPTION:This is not a COWA club event\, so you will need to follow the 404 & C4C Guide Lines.\nLive Lighter \nMAX Pinjarra\n\n\n​ \nMAX Pinjarra has something for everyone\, there is a wide range of vehicles to look at\, from custom classics\, hot rods\, street machines and motorbikes\, to vintage tractors\, racing tractors and drag racing cars. We pride ourselves on the fact we look after the kids with plenty of kids entertainment\, from face painting and pony rides to petting zoos and bouncy castles\, we make sure the kids are having a good time. \nThe horsepower competition on the Dyno is fierce\, and the sound of high revving engines makes it a very popular part of the show\, and the addition of Lawn Mower racing has added a brand new dimension to the event \nThe whole family will be kept entertained with\, kids activities\, market and trade stalls and plenty of refreshments available. The town centre is only a 10 minute walk away and we provide a shuttle bus to ferry people into town and take in some of the attractions\, or maybe  just sit and have a coffee. \nA decision was made in 2012 to run the event on THE FIRST SUNDAY OF APRIL\, this is so you can remember when each event is. So put it in your diary\, and make sure you are at Live Lighter MAX Pinjarra\, proudly supported by the Shire Of Murray. \n\n\nThe inaugural Murray Auto Xtravaganza\, (MAX Pinjarra)\, was the brainchild of  (then) Murray Shire President\, and keen hot rodder\, Mr Noel Nancarrow. \nNoel’s desire was to create an event that would highlight the wonderful attractions of the Murray Shire\, and build to be an iconic event for the region. \nHeld on the lush green football ground of Sir Ross McLarty Oval in Pinjarra\, MAX Pinjarra attracts over 250 entrants from all parts of the Metro area\, and from around the Southwest.

DESCRIPTION:This is not a COWA club event\, so you will need to follow the 404 & C4C Guide Lines. \nYou are invited to the inaugural Swan to Swan event\, the first of what we hope will be decades more to come.\nThe exclusive event will see just 150 cars travel in convoy from the Swan River (UWA) to one of the most beautiful wineries in the Swan Valley\, Nikola Estate\nYou will be leaving from the home of Classic Cars & Coffee at UWA (Carpark 9 for this one)\, where you can spend an hour admiring the cars and enjoying your favorite coffees before we “start the engines” and depart UWA for Nikola Estate for an octane induced scenic drive. The journey will be along some lovely roads where you can enjoy seeing the 150 on the road and take in some lovely scenery before arriving for your picnic lunch on the grass under some magnificent Gian pines. There you will enjoy entertainment\, great wines and beers and of course the camaraderie of your fellow car enthusiasts.\nWhat do I need to know?\nCost: Entry fee is just $20 per vehicle with hampers available and purchased separately as hampers for one or two\, plus booking fee with 100% going to children’s charities.\nHampers: That’s right\, these high quality hampers will feature continental rolls\, frittata’s\, 2 cheeses\, quince paste\, olives\, seasonal fruit and assorted crackers (Gluten Free & Vegetarian available). Simply purchase your hamper at the same time you get your entry fee. Single hampers are $38\, for two is $69.\nWhere do we sit? On the grass\, surrounded by the cars we love and under the shade of the giant pines. Don’t forget to bring picnic rugs\, chairs\, pillows etc… for you and your guests.\nCan I bring my own food and drinks? You are welcome to bring your own non alcoholic drinks but you cannot BYO any alcohol as this is a licensed venue. You can not bring food in but there will be food trucks and a coffee van there if you don’t want the hamper option.\nCovid policy: This will be as per government directives at the time but all will be required to check in at both venues via the SafeWA app and also prove double vaccination status at Nikola Estate. This will be checked as you enter and a condition of entry to both the venue and the event itself.\nHow long are we at UWA? Arrive by 9:30 with a 10:30 departure time. Coffee vans will be on hand.\nWhere will we drive? Well that will be revealed to registrants the day before\, we like a bit of mystery! We can tell you it will be a relaxed drive and suitable for vehicles of all vintages. It will not be a race and can be driven at your leisure.\nHow long are we at Nikola Estate? The aim is to arrive by 12 at the latest with the event officially closing off at 3pm. You are of course more than welcome to spend more time in the stunning grounds of Nikola Estate. We of course encourage responsible driving at all times.\nHow many can we have in the car for the $20 entry fee? As many as you like\, the fee is per vehicle\, and not per person.\nHow many cars are going? For the inaugural event just 150 cars are going and already there are reservations for 60. If you do want to be part of a lovely event and part of history please book extra early to avoid missing out. \n

DESCRIPTION:We will be having a General meeting on Tuesday the 8th of February. \nLocation               Bassendean Bowling Club\, 10 Whitfield St\, Bassendean WA 6054 \nTime                      7.00pm \nA BBQ will be provided for supper\, I will send out a reminder closer to the date to get numbers for Catering. \nRegards \nE  president@corvettesofwa.com \n  \nIMPORTANT NOTICE FROM BASSENDEAN BOWLING CLUB \nThe following changes have been made at Bassendean Bowling Club: \n\nThe pedestrian gates to Whitfield St (on the shopping centre side of the building) have been indefinitely closed.\nAccess is only available from the Hamilton St car park.\nAccess into the building is only provided from the Hamilton St car park side of the building\nAll other doors will remain locked\nSomeone will greet you as you arrive to:\n\n◦           Check you in \n◦           View your proof of vax \n◦           Give you a wrist band noting that you have met the requirements. \n\nProof of vax will only be accepted if it is:\n\n◦           ServiceWA App \n◦           Aust Govt COVID vax Certificate or \n◦           Medicare COVID vax Certificate \n\nMedical exemptions will only be accepted if included in the Australian Immunisation Register\nWhen you arrive please check in\nProvide your proof of vax and valid personal identification\nPlace your wrist band on your wrist\nThen go about your business as usual\nFace masks must be worn inside the clubrooms unless seated at a table\nFace masks are not required outside or on the greens or surrounds\nA COVID Marshall will be in attendance.  Please help out and follow their instructions at all times.

Just two hours\, a huge variety of cars and friendly owners in a completely relaxed atmosphere. We appreciate the passion of every car enthusiast and we welcome all as visitors. To display cars however Classic Cars and Coffee is specific to a certain set of cars so please carefully read the Conditions of Entry as we do not want to say no on the day to a fellow enthusiast.
