What a fantastic day it was at our 2022 Christmas In July event held at the Hillarys’ Yacht

Whilst the day was wet and overcast the warm venue with views over the marina and northern beaches ensured the event was a ripper.
A solid turnout of over 50 members enjoyed the best catered buffet we have found for some time.

November 2021 Midweek Cruise-King Road Brewery
Another rip snorta of a day has been had by members of the Corvette club due to the efforts of Natalia. If you were not there, trust me, you missed out. King Brewery certainly lived up to its name. The beer, the food, the carpark, the service, the bon-ami (not the cleaner), the ambience and the the, were all excellent!! We gathered at Hungry Jacks on south street in BullCreek and then headed down the Freeway (which remarkably was free!!). Once at King Brewery, we parked up on probably the greenest grass I have ever parked on. We had a ball outside with Graham showing us his new Corvette vintage trailer that he towed along for fun (check the photo!) before we headed inside for the excellent food and beer. In all a humdinga of a day followed by a nice drive home via Safety Bay, Rockingham, Fremantle and Cottesloe.

The following quote from Ron Flood says a lot for the day
“To all C of WA members, In the past 41 years of C of WA there has never been club event (excluding conventions) that has
had this many vettes on display (37) at a function. This is a “historic’ moment for which all members should be proud of.

Andy had an adventure:
Pretty girls but one of them let me down
Smoke coming out of the steering column, pulled over quickly on the free way
Tried to get battery disconnected but too tight without spanner
Smoke did not smell like electrical searched further with floody
Restarted the 73 and smoke started again out of the column and blinker arm hole ????????????
Lifted bonnet and found oil leak from rocker cover onto exhaust manifold and fan blowing it up the steering column into the cab
Who would of thunk
Returned 73 to workshop and continued on in the 69 with Greg

Aviation Museum Bull Creek
Great guided visit, finished off with lunch at the club
August Midweek Cruise 2020 – CU@Park Cafe in Granville Park, Gingin
A brilliant day in the sunshine driving up to that town that will soon have to change its name because of cheese. There is something magic about blue sky and green fields and a Corvette blasting along a country road. You would never get it in a Volkswagen! The food was awesome at the CU Cafe, their chef really knows what a “blue” steak is, really! ( to make a good blue steak all you do is run the steer through a bushfire and serve). In the videos, the up and down movement is to “give life” to the lineup (that is my excuse!!). On the way up I had a fox run across the road in front of me, nearly skittled him. Nothing unusual you would say, foxes are everywhere (thanks to the Queen), but you would be wrong. This fox was the size of a large Shetland pony and it had a great white shark in its mouth! (well, you get the idea, this beast was big!!). I have never before seen a fox towing a dual axle caravan, but there is a first time for everything!! I followed Andy W and Natalie T back south but when I lost them over the horizon on a prairie where you could see for 68 miles, I decided to lower my speed to warp factor 4. Happily the fuel gauge stopped moving faster than the tacho and I decided to take a diversion to the Yanchep Lagoon. Saw several foxes catching great whites and a couple of white pointers on the beach. As the ocean started to overwhelm the sun, I sadly headed the Corvettes bow for her homeport in Kingsley. Ended the day following James Bond home (what a number plate to have!!). Keep your eyes out for shark eating foxes, they’re everywhere! Adios Amigos
