Seller’s Notes
A beautifully presented 1958 C1 Corvette, finished in silver with grey coves, now offered for sale on behalf of its owner.
The car has been in the current owner’s possession for approximately 14 years, having been personally imported to Australia. Due to the owner’s current health, it is now time for this much-loved Corvette to find a new home.
THE CAR
The car presents very well for its age, with the silver paintwork and grey coves giving it the classic C1 look. There are some minor scratches in the paint and the chrome shows some signs of age, but overall it presents well.
The black interior is in good condition, with comfortable seats that appear to have been restored and refoamed at some stage.
It comes with both the soft top and removable hardtop, along with the hardtop stand. The rear window in the hardtop is cracked, however a replacement window has already been ordered and will be included with the car.
ENGINE & DRIVETRAIN
The Corvette is fitted with a 1968 Camaro Z/28 engine, paired with a 4-speed Muncie manual gearbox and fitted with period-correct dual-quad carburettors.
I have personally driven the car around Perth and on the freeway and can say that it runs smoothly and quietly, with the engine performing strongly.
The car has also been fitted with front disc brakes, making it more comfortable and safer to drive on today’s roads.
A new battery has also been fitted.
REGISTRATION
The Corvette is currently on WA C4C concessional registration until 15 January 2027.
A WA buyer can choose to keep the car on C4C or put it onto full registration. The custom number plates are included with the sale for a WA buyer.

The C5 Corvette is an exciting and rewarding car with amazing handling and braking. The cars are all 25 years old now and in need of some restoration or repair. There are fifteen to twenty inbuilt problems which are known to occur in these cars. Some of these can be checked through the Driver Information Centre on the car . A trouble code will be present with a C for current or a H for a history . Following is a list of items repaired and replaced on this car.
Drive Train: Change engine oil filter and engine oil. Change Differential Oil. Replace Transmission fluid and Filter Replace shift cable, (fail item) replace transmission electronic selector and adjust shift pattern. Replace spark plugs and leads . Replace oil pressure sender (fail item requires removal of inlet manifold). Replace air conditioning compressor ,battery, air cleaner filter. Drain and replace engine coolant (requires removal of starter motor). Replace RHS oxygen sensor
Chassis: Replace RHF wheel bearing, brake rotors, rubber brake hoses, brake pads and all brake fluid. New tyres ,correct wheels and wheel align car. Clean all body earth points (fail item)
Body: Replace both headlight lift motors (fail item). Replace windshield wiper motor (fail item) , replace door and roof weather strips (fail item water leaks) . Replace LH window lift motor .
Interior: Remove and shampoo carpets. Repair printed circuit in dash corroded due to water leaks. Repair rocking in seats (fail item) and replace seat tilt lever in drivers seat ,a plastic item which brakes in time. Replace rear speakers ( fail item from water leak when rear hatch is opened when wet) Adjust door glass .
Body is 100% undamaged with 98% original paint.
