Corvette Ordering Now Officially Open in Australia/New Zealand

Ordering for the new mid-engine Corvette – with right-hand drive straight from the Bowling Green factory – is finally open for our friends to the south in Australia and New Zealand, General Motors Specialty Vehicles announced last week.

Helping ease the pain of that long wait for the C8 Corvette will be a special Carbon Edition exclusive to Australia and New Zealand, “a limited production run to celebrate our local launch of Corvette, which is sure to become a collector’s dream,” GMSV said in an official announcement.

The Carbon Edition, a 3LT coupe with Z51 and front lift, will include a carbon fiber interior package with carbon inserts on dash and door panels, spectra gray machined face Trident wheels, color-coded brake calipers, carbon fiber roof, engine appearance lighting package with carbon fiber closeout panels, and unique carbon build plate.

The Carbon Edition will start at $197,900.

The “ordinary” 2022 Corvettes will all be Z51s with front lift and will be priced at $154,990 for the 2LT coupe, $169,990 for the 2LT convertible, $169,900 for the 3LT coupe, and $184,990 for the 3LT convertible, according to a report by autocar.co.nz.

“The long wait is over,” GMSV Director Joanne Stogiannis told that website. “The books are open, and our Dealers are ready to place orders. Excitement and anticipation have been building since the reveal of the C8 right-hand drive program almost two years ago, even more so when we released recommended retail pricing for 2LT and 3LT models in late March. The build-up to this point will be sure to reach a real crescendo with release of the pricing and specification of the Carbon Edition.”

Autocar.co.nz says the 2022 Corvette will arrive in New Zealand in late 2021.

We have recently announced three exciting new exterior colours for MY22 – Amplify Orange, Caffeine and Hypersonic Gray and with the final confirmation of our MY22 options list, the last piece of the puzzle is now in place. Full specification and option pricing, including Carbon Edition, of the eagerly anticipated MY22 have been shared with our GMSV Dealer network.

The Carbon Edition, exclusive to Australia and New Zealand, is a limited production run to celebrate our local launch of Corvette, which is sure to become a collector’s dream.

The Carbon Edition, a 3LT Coupe, comes equipped with a hand-picked option package consisting of:

\ Carbon fibre interior package (Carbon inserts on dash and door panels)
\ Trident wheel package with machined face in spectra gray
\ Colour-coded brake calipers
\ Carbon fibre roof
\ Engine appearance lighting package with carbon fibre closeout panels
\ Unique carbon build plate
