Drive 615 Heads to the Indy 500 and Takes a 160+ MPH Hot Lap in the 2023 Z06 Pace Car

Our good friend Byron Glover Jr aka Drive 615 on YouTube got a special invite to the Indianapolis 500 on behalf of Chevrolet and he filed this video showing his time spent with the 2023 Corvette Z06 Indy 500 Pace Cars!

Once at the track, Byron is treated to the several “exhaust note barks” as the Indy 500 official pace cars were started up and staged on pit lane. While all that was happening, he captured the Thunderbirds doing a practice flyover!

But the real fun happens when Byron is suited up and heads for the passenger seat for a hot lap around the famous 2.5-mile oval track. Even better was the fact that his driver is GM ride and handling engineer Aaron Link who lets the C8Z off the chain with a top speed of 163 MPH!

After the track date, Byron heads back to the hotel where he finds a Hypersonic Gray/Blue interior 2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible parked in front. Say, this couldn’t be the same CTF Gray/Blue Convertible we’ve been stalking over the last week, could it? Byron never captured the license plate but we’ll follow up to ask him about it!

World’s first ride-along in the 2023 Z06 Corvette (the official pace car of the Indy 500) by Drive615. Massive thank you to Corvette and #teamchevy for the opportunity of a lifetime. Aaron Link took me out on a hot lap on the Indy 500 track and we hit 163 MPH coming out of one of the straightaways. This Z06 is so visceral and just puts a huge smile on my face whenever I am in its presence.
