Man Surprises Father-in-Law with a 2011 Corvette ZR1
Ok, Corvette Nation! Here is your feel-good story of the day!
Surprising a loved-one with a new-to-them Corvette is one of the best things we can share on this platform, as it not only shows how much a Corvette can mean to someone, but there’s the whole family component of giving back to the man who obviously gave so much to his family.
Today’s surprise comes from Instagram and a son-in-law who goes by @_schmevin_. He tells us that his father-in-law Ken, a 76-year-old Vietnam Veteran and former Navy Chief, went through a health scare about seven months ago and was forced to sell off his C6 Corvette. The good news is that he overcame whatever that scare was, but he regretted having to sell his Corvette. Unfortunately, with used car prices increasing, he found himself priced out of another Corvette.

The family says they “caught” Ken window shopping for a replacement so they decided to take matters in their own hands and not only bought him another C6, they got him THE C6 – a 2011 Corvette ZR1!
Schmevin then recounts the plan for surprising Ken with the new car:
After months of searching, we finally found the right car to surprise him with, we went and saw a movie but unbeknownst to him I showed up early and dropped the car off right where we would walk past it.
Not gonna lie that this video brought a few tears to my eyes. Thanks for sharing this video, and congratulations to Ken and his new ZR1!
